Ziplining at Tsitsikamma

Hooked to the trees at Tsitsikamma

South Africa has no shortage of adrenaline activities.  If you want to dive off the highest bridge in the world or swim in frigid waters with sharks and whales, you can.  We did a bit of scuba diving in Sodwana Bay, but didn't see much in the very murky, turbulent waters, and I'm not a huge fan of bridges anyhow.  So, we opted for canopy swinging at Tsitsikamma.  It was a wonderful day amidst the trees.

Details

We went on the canopy tour with Tsitsikamma Canopy Tours at Storms River.  Personally, we found it on the mild side of adventure activities --- especially compared to canyon swinging and ATV riding --- but still a lot of fun.  It's quite easy to do and you don't need particularly great fitness, meaning that it's an excellent adventure for children.

How much fun! I've done this now in Cuba and Mexico and each time I enjoy it more and more.

Andi, It was our first time doing it and we LOVED it! I can't wait to do it again elsewhere in the world.

I'm impressed that you filmed while on the ropes! I'd be scared of dropping the camera or falling to my death. One might be worse than the other, but I won't say which.

Christy, They hooked the video camera to my belt buckle and I kept a solid grip on it with one hand and used my other to swing. You're hooked onto the ropes quite securely so I don't think there's much of a chance of either the camera or you falling!

I'm either suffering from insanity or too much interest in vlogging/blogging! Then again, the two might not be all that far from each other.

I think Tsitsikamma is really tough! I love the edges and the cliffs! You're really going to have fun with your adrenaline! I love the breath taking and scenic view. Great!

I've done ziplining in (I think) five different countries now, but I REALLY wanted to do this one while in ZA last year. I think it's supposed to be one of the longest in the world?

Also, I've taken my camera on pretty much every zip I've done, so you're not alone!

It is supposed to be one of the longest in the world and I think that the one we went on said it had some of the longest foofi slides (?). Either way, it was fun!
